Henry Hildebrand
Flower Bluff | Marine Biologist
Dr. Hildebrand was a marine biologist who lived in Corpus Christi, taught at Texas A&M University – Kingsville and Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, and did field research throughout the coast of eastern Mexico, south Texas, and even the Bering Sea. His research interests included shrimp, blue crab, oyster, and shark ecology and fishery, red tide phenomena, power plant thermal discharges, and sea turtle migrations and biology. He was particularly noted as an expert on the Lower Laguna Madre, a South Texas coastal bay which is one of only two hypersaline lagoons in the world.
