Ken Zarker

Mr. Zarker worked for the main state pollution agency, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and its predecessors, for 23 years. He was involved principally in solid waste reduction, using a number of pollution prevention tools, including recycling, compliance assistance, green purchasing, environmental management systems, Toxic Release Inventory reporting, and performance-based regulation. Mr. Zarker has also been active in the non-profit world, including service as the chair of the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable, work on the Executive Committee of the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club, and production of an environmental video newsmagazine, Earthline.
