Mike Bradshaw
Carrizo Springs | Game warden
Mr. Bradshaw served as a game warden for Texas Parks and Wildlife from 1973 to 2008, working to protect wildlife in the brush country of south Texas, principally Dimmit County.
He worked on cases involving dove, quail, waterfowl, deer and nongame species, including bag-limit, night hunting, baiting, commercial deer-breeding, aerial shooting, and out-of-season hunting violations. He was experienced in tracking offenders and wildlife and in forensic analysis of crime scenes, skills he uses in his own work and in teaching other game wardens.
Mr. Bradshaw was also interested in the history of wildlife protection in the state, and wrote a book, Texas Game Warden Chronicles, based on interviews with veteran game wardens from Texas Parks and Wildlife and its predecessor agencies.
