Robin Doughty is a professor of geography at the University of Texas at Austin, where he teaches and researches in the areas of cultural geography, historical ecology, biogeography, endangered species. He has also been a prolific author about the Texas environment, writing such books as Return of the Whooping Crane, Endangered Wildlife in Texas, The Mockingbird, At Home in Texas: Early Views of the Land, The Amazing Armadillo: Geography of a Folk Critter, Wildlife and Man in Texas, and Feather Fashions and Bird Preservation.
