Ms. Stewart is a coastal advocate and educator based in Lake Jackson, working as principal consultant for Quintana Environmental Services. On the federal level, she has served on the National Advisory Committee on Oceans and Atmosphere, the Coastal Management Advisory Committee, the Galveston Bay National Estuary Program, the EPA Gulf of Mexico Program, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in its effort to protect examples of the Columbia Bottoms hardwood forests. On the state level, she has worked with the General Land Office’s Coastal Management Advisory Committee, with the Texas Air Control Board’s Research Advisory Council, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Artificial Reef Committee, and the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality’s Galveston Bay Council. Locally, she has participated in the Brazoria County Dune Permitting Committee, Emergency Planning Committee and Oil Spill Committee. In the non-profit realm, she has served on the boards of the Galveston Bay Foundation, Gulf Coast Fisherman’s Environmental Defense Fund, San Jacinto Lung Association, Texas Committee on Natural Resources, Texas League of Conservation Voters, and the Texas Environmental Coalition.
